Contextual Safeguarding is an approach to safeguarding that responds to young people’s experiences of harm outside of the home. It is not just about working within context but is about how the child protection system recognises and addresses the risk young people face that are beyond the control of their parents.
The following specific safeguarding issues are outlined below: Sexual violence and harassment, child-on-child abuse, online safety and radicalisation and extremism. These risks are identified by the local authority (Bexley).
